DiVino worked with Michael J. La Rue, owner of the Rue La Rue Café to develop a wine program that would suit his concept as welcoming neighborhood café while at the same time offer a variety of wines for a sophisticated and international clientele.
The café established as a tribute to the late actress, Rue McClanahan (most famous for her role as southern siren, Blanche Devereaux on the TV series, The Golden Girls). It was our goal to create a list of recognizable wine varieties alongside niche products for the curious and the connoisseur alike. We drew inspiration from episodes of The Golden Girls as well as McClanahan’s personal preferences and made it our mission to offer uncompromising quality within a start-up budget.
DiVino also provided training for the staff and will be participating in wine dinners and themed events as a guest sommelier.
