May 5th is Giving Tuesday Now.

#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

In the midst of a pandemic it’s easy to feel helpless. While staying home to flatten the curve is the best thing we can do for the healthcare workers on the frontlines, not everyone has extra time to learn new recipes and declutter their closets.

You Can Help

Many people are struggling to make ends meet. Essential workers and healthcare workers are putting their lives at risk every day, and small businesses and entrepreneurs are struggling to stay afloat. Schools and a parents alike are doing their best to keep students on track. Here are three ways to make an impact on this Giving Tuesday.

The Paycheck Project

For New York Locals, check out the paycheck project! It was founded by school teacher who figured out how to support local small businesses and entrepreneurs by raising money to pay them to produce much needed products and services for the community. You can partner, donate, or both!

Projects To Date

  • 50 lunches for employees at Harlem Hospital from Ponty Bistro
  • 186 masks to residents at Providence House
  • Two weeks of groceries for 5 different families in NYC

Partner, Donate, or Both!

Community Word Project

Anyone who is home schooling their kids understands how important it is to cultivate creativity and confident self-expression.

The Community Word Project continues to provide dynamic arts programs, from a distance, to underserved New York public schools during this challenging time.

In 22 years, CWP has reached nearly 30,000 students. Your donation, even 5 or 10 dollars goes to support teaching artist training and supplies for students in need throughout the city.

Cincoro Tequila and #ToastYourTeam

This is by far the easiest way to give back! Support the hospitality industry by posting a picture or video of yourself on Instagram, raising a glass (of anything you like) to people you care about. Cincoro Tequila will put up the cash for your donation.

Tag @cincorotequila and use the hashtag #toastyourteam.

You will receive an easy link with a $20 voucher to donate to Restaurant Strong and the United States Bartender’s Guild Emergency Assistance Program.

Giving has been so easy, free, or delicious!

Cheers. Stay safe. Thank you!
